Molly McCrosson is a painter with a BFA from the University of Utah and a minor in creative writing. Art serves two purposes in her practice. One is speaking, the other is listening. Working on her own paintings is like speaking. Her creative work with others is more like listening.

McCrosson creates large, bold canvases, influenced by the German Expressionists, Surrealists, and Color Theorists. The surreal elements in her work emanate from characters and plots in her imagination. Her paintings are layered, often incorporating animation, cartoons, and organic mark-marking.

McCrosson makes art to illuminate the human condition. After leaving Utah, she lived and worked in the bay area in California for 20 years. During that time she experienced a whole new community, enriched my immigration and diversity. She has lived in Colorodo since 2010 and has been an active participant on the Front Range art scene ever since.
